In our article we intend to analyze the XCV aphorism of Francis Bacon Novum Organum, contextualizing in the events of the Modern Age and the modern struggle, regarding the epistemological debate between Empiricism and Rationalism. Even though he is the founder of the experimental method in philosophy and empiricism, Bacon proposes an overcoming of the reason/experience dualism in that aphorism. In our article, we intend to analyze modern value-free modern Empiricism and Rationalism, and their contributions to philosophy, and how Bacon, even though being an empiricist, proposes, from the observation of nature, to make a philosophy not of ant or spider but bee.
