The origin of ethical responsibility
Keywords:

Emmanuel Levinas, philosopher, heir to Jewish culture, had been close to books since he was young, due to the influence of his father, a bookseller. He is responsible for works such as Totality and Infinite, a work used in this article that aims to analyze the philosopher's thinking about ethical responsibility towards others. The face is the essential part of study when talking about Responsibility, as it is the part of our body where the features are found, those that are responsible for face-to-face communication, this transmits feelings even if involuntarily. And it is through this face-to-face meeting that responsibility with the Other enters, which for Levinas is an ethical responsibility. Responsibility is an obligation, whether you like it or not. And it is from this moment that it is understood that responsibility "takes away" freedom, because the attitudes themselves affect everyone around them and not just themselves, and with this Levinas continues his study of ethical responsibility that is irreplaceable and immutable towards the me and with others.
